Archiving Webinar February 2026

Archiving Social Care and Education legacy systems data

Many local authorities are still relying on legacy systems to retain access to historical social care files, education and finance data.

The data is critical.

The systems often are not.

Unsupported or ageing systems can introduce unnecessary risk, ongoing cost and complexity, particularly when dealing with sensitive information and GDPR obligations. But retiring or updating those systems isn’t always straightforward, especially when the data still needs to be accessed, reported on or referenced as part of day-to-day work.

That’s why the ICT Revolutions team ran a webinar, focusing on one of the biggest challenges facing local authorities: managing and archiving legacy data safely and effectively across social care, education and wider enterprise systems.

Delivered by one of our in-house experts, this interactive session shard practical approaches, real-world examples and lessons learned from live local authority projects. We explored how legacy data can be managed in ways that are compliant, secure and genuinely supportive for teams on the ground.

There’ll also be time for questions, so you can raise issues specific to your own systems and challenges.

During the session, we’ll explore how archiving can help organisations to:

  • Reduce GDPR and data security risk
  • Decommission legacy systems and lower support overheads
  • Maintain secure, role-based access to historic records
  • Support reporting on long-term trends with high data integrity
  • Simplify future system change and data migration
  • Reduce training time by preserving familiar data structures

If you work within a local authority, or support organisations using systems such as Liquidlogic, this webinar will provide practical insight into managing legacy data without increasing risk or complexity.
