How to procure our services

For G-Cloud 14 and Digital Outcomes 6:

The Crown Commercial Service have set up a brand-new portal to make the procurement process simpler and easier for supplier and buyer. So what do you need to do?

You can register here: https://identify.crowncommercial.gov.uk/manage-org/register with your company details. There is a useful guide that CCS have prepared which you can find here: https://www.crowncommercial.gov.uk/public-procurement-gateway-guides

The benefits of procuring our services via a Framework

The CCS (Crown Commercial Service) use competition among suppliers to increase quality and value. In 2021/22 they helped customers achieve commercial benefits totalling over £2.8 billion of public money by using their agreements. Procurement regulations oblige public sector bodies to tender from suppliers when they want to buy goods and services above a certain value. Buying through CCS complies with procurement regulations but simplifies the process for buyers. The advantages include:

  • Buyers get competitive prices because suppliers can sell large volumes of their products and services to UK public sector organisations as though they were supplying a single customer
  • CCS vets and reviews suppliers regularly. This saves you time finding suppliers and checking their reliability
  • A large number of suppliers from multinational companies to small and medium sized business (SMEs)
  • Contracts include performance management, obliging suppliers to improve value and service over time
  • Contracts comply with public sector procurement regulations
  • Standardised contract terms reduce administration
  • Free to use for public sector and third sector organisations

The difference between the frameworks

G-Cloud 14

The G-Cloud framework helps customers in the UK public sector find and buy cloud computing services. It is intended to build upon the benefits of the previous G-Cloud framework, including;

  1. Access to over 38,000 services and over 5,200 suppliers including a high number of SMEs
  2. Scalable services: pay for what you use, and increase or reduce what you need easily
  3. Quick and easy route to market
  4. Reduced costs and reduced total cost of ownership compared to running your own service in house
  5. Access to the latest technology and innovation with every refresh of the G-cloud agreement
  6. Change service provider easily

Digital Outcomes 6

The DOS framework is for the procurement of digital teams or individuals, often alongside in-house delivery teams. Opportunities on the Digital Outcomes and Specialist framework are advertised in the open and suppliers just need to search and apply for those that are applicable. The service offers the following benefits:

  • Offers bespoke services through suppliers with the right capabilities to meet your needs
  • No restriction on the value of an individual call-off contract (the framework has an overall OJEU value of £2 billion)
  • The further competition process allows you to get the best supplier to provide you the best solution and outcome
  • The framework terms and conditions follow the Public Sector Contract format, and you have scope to tailor your call-off contract (depending on the complexity of your needs)
  • You own the intellectual property rights and source code for the bespoke development – so you can share and re-use these with other public sector buyers
  • Our suppliers are mostly small and medium sized businesses that use an agile approach when designing your digital services
