Engaging e-learning by ICT Revolutions

What is RETAIN?

Welcome to RETAIN, our bitesize e-learning courses designed to teach users of social care and early help, finance and education case management systems. Our self-paced training courses are delivered through several short video tutorials, followed by a series of exercises to be completed within your own training systems. The courses can be installed into your own Learning Management System, or we can host them for you. All courses are fully SCORM compliant and in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

Why Choose Us?

ICT Revolutions began creating e-learning content to assist Local Authorities during the Covid-19 Pandemic in March 2020. The temporary need to train large numbers of people without the ability to do it face to face was a challenge which many suddenly faced. Our idea was to provide a simple, intuitive and adaptable e-Learning system which covered enough content to ensure new starters could receive read-only access within hours, without waiting for available trainers or navigating the logistics of training staff who could not be present!

Since 2020, our e-learning has grown and expanded as the benefits of virtual learning became apparent. We expanded our Quick Start courses to include Systems C's LCS, LAS, EHM, EYES and Adults and Children’s ContrOCC.

We soon found that we were being asked to provide content which was more in depth and could be adapted to suit the needs and processes of each individual Local Authority. The Workflow Courses soon followed, starting with in depth Adults and Children’s ContrOCC and Liquidlogic LAS with the list growing each day.

Alternatively, we can offer entirely bespoke courses to cover your local processes, such as EHCP, Portals, and Discharge to Assessment. This option is proving popular as specific business areas and locally configured sections of your applications can now be included in your online training offer. We work closely with each customer to ensure they have every business area, and need, covered.

We have a proven track record working with Local Authorities to design and implement training solutions.

Easygenerator based Learning Management System (LMS)

The latest development to our RETAIN offering is the additional functionality of our own, hosted, Easygenerator based LMS. This offers many additional benefits including (but not limited to!):

  • Self Service – Training managers can enrol new staff on the relevant course and tailor future courses for each role
  • Learning Pathways – Can be managed internally and assignments can be collated and graded
  • Quizzes – Can be bespoke to suit each LA and any common problem areas
  • Reporting – Both user and course data can be accessed and exported with ease
  • Certificates – Can be issued on completion of a course, with or without a quiz
  • Competency Quiz – To ensure those who have worked with Liquidlogic before are up to date with local processes and are still familiar with the system
  • SCORM Compliance and Packages – SCORM content can be uploaded
  • Additional integration – such as SSO
  • Additional Content – such as PDF guides, links, databases, screenshots, guidance on where to get help and use the LMS etc.
  • Glossaries – General and local terms can be added
  • Personalised branding and customisable layout
  • Assignments and Scheduled Lessons – Courses can be scheduled via a training event
  • Forums, chat and Workshops – Real time, text based chat
  • Wiki Guides – Always useful for all areas of training and user management

Benefits to RETAIN E-Learning

There are many benefits to e-learning over traditional classroom-based training, including:

  • Reduced costs – remove or reduce the need for training rooms and dedicated trainers. Staff expenses are reduced, taking away the time and cost of travelling to classrooms
  • Improved efficiency – reduced time travelling to and from classroom training. High volumes of staff can be trained in a short period of time
  • Self-paced – Classroom training can sometimes be too fast or slow paced. E–learning means that your staff can learn at their own pace, at a convenient time. Makes learning easy and accessible with an exceptional end-user experience
  • Greater consistency – trainers do not all deliver classroom training in the same way or to the same standard, and some exercises can be forgotten or missed out. E-learning ensures that everyone sees the same content, in the same way

How do you keep up to date with all the changes to software applications that you specialise in?

We regularly meet with software suppliers to understand product changes ahead of their release to customers. We also help many customers with application and configuration upgrades so we’re aware of how to implement new functionality and support customers with any bug fixes and hotfixes.

We also attend regional and national user groups and webinars on current topics such as the Care Cap Reforms so that we are involved from the outset.
